Christ Episcopal Church is a loving and welcoming church family, centrally located in the historic Monte Vista District of San Antonio, Texas. Our sanctuary is one of the most peaceful and beautiful churches in the country, but the real beauty of our church is our people. We are a large church, but with a small, familial feel and lots of ways to become involved.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Ministries

We at Christ Church believe in the power of prayer, and its importance in maintaining a healthy personal relationship with God, Our Father. These are some ways for you to use your prayer life for the good of the church.

"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16

Emergency Prayer Ministry
A prayer ministry for emergencies only. The emergency prayer ministry can only be activated by the clergy. When the emergency goes out, those who are called obediently respond by praying to God for those in need of our prayers. We believe that God hears us.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry
The Intercessors ministry is a group of prayer warriors that intercede on behalf of the church and the needs of its members.

It is amazing to be able to pray in God's will and really see His answers manifest. Every Monday we lift the people of our church before God for their needs and also the needs of the church itself. We have been a part of many miracles and magnificent answers to these prayers and have truly seen the hand of God hold tight to our Church. We are so blessed by the Holy Spirit and so blessed by the deep friendships we have established in our group in learning how to love and pray together.

Altar Prayer Ministry
Prayers are offered at the two side altar rails during the administration of Holy Communion at the 9 & 11 a.m. service. This is such an important ministry and we pray there will be those who feel led to join us.

Anglican Rosary
The Rosary is prayed each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Veteran’s Chapel. We begin by verbalizing any intentions for which we all pray. While praying the rosary is mostly contemplative there are parts that are said together. Using the beads, prayers are said repetitively as you move from bead to bead. The Glorious Mysteries are prayed from Easter to Advent; the Joyful Mysteries from Advent to Lent; the Sorrowful Mysteries from Lent to Easter.
