lenten series - The Final Days of Jesus
6 p.m. Wednesdays & 10 a.m. Thursdays in Lent
As we prepare for Holy Week at CEC during this Lenten season we will take a walk with Jesus through his last week on Earth. Our study, led by the Revs. Scott Kitayama and Brien Koehler will look at the final days of Jesus that took place in Jerusalem. The climax of Jesus’ messianic ministry began as he entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. During our Lenten series, we will look at the days of the week that will lead to his crucifixion and resurrection. Tracing the events of the final week of Jesus’ life leading up to (and including) his death, burial, and resurrection, we hope this study will be a refreshing and helpful way to ponder, meditate upon, and think through these events which are so central to our faith and the faith of Christians across the globe.
In order to accommodate more members of our parish, the Final Days of Jesus will be taught on the five Wednesday evenings in Lent and again on Thursday mornings for those who cannot attend an evening class. A simple soup and sandwich supper will be served on Wednesday evenings.
To register for the Lenten series The Last Days of Jesus, please contact Karen Von Der Bruegge at 210-736-3132 or karenv@cecsa.org. She will be placing a group order for class books and sending out lesson plans.
There will be programs for children and youth in the FMC during the adult class.
