Christ Episcopal Church is a loving and welcoming church family, centrally located in the historic Monte Vista District of San Antonio, Texas. Our sanctuary is one of the most peaceful and beautiful churches in the country, but the real beauty of our church is our people. We are a large church, but with a small, familial feel and lots of ways to become involved.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

LISTENING TO THE STORY
with the Revs. Scott Kitayama & Brien Koehler
Throughout the biblical story, God’s people met together to remember their story and who they were through the public reading of the Scriptures. And reading the Scriptures with other followers of Jesus reminds us of the story we live in—a story that has transformed the lives of millions of people, a story transcending and integrating every time, age, gender, and culture.

SANCTUARY MENTAL HEALTH MINISTRIES
with the Rev. Justin Lindstrom
Sanctuary provides resources that meaningfully engage the topics of faith and mental health. The content is developed in collaboration with theologians, mental health professionals, and people with lived experience of mental health challenges. These resources prepare communities of faith around the world to raise awareness, reduce stigma, support mental health, and promote mental wellbeing. On Wednesday evenings we will engage in the Sanctuary Course, a video series with conversation that will for sure transform our ministry at Christ Church. If you want to learn how to love people more fully than this is the course for you!

ALPHA VIDEOS
with the Alpha Team
Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What’s the purpose of life? What’s next? If you are looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there’s a place for you. Offered as part of Wednesday Evenings at CEC, the Alpha Videos are applicable to those who are not currently “church goers.” These videos are exciting remakes done in 2021 that include on-the-street and other amazing interviews. Please come and/or invite someone (a friend, co-worker, neighbor) who may be seeking or questioning their faith. The weekly video subjects like “How Can I Have Faith,” and “Is There More to Life than This,” are then discussed in an accepting atmosphere where no question is too big or too small. Invitations are also available in the sanctuary. YOUTH BIBLE STUDY
with Avery Moran
The CEC Youth will hold Bible study in the Carriage House on Wednesday nights. They will work their way through different stories and passages from the Bible. Come join the conversation.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM: BRIDGES ACROSS THE BIBLE
with Lily Fenton
On Wednesdays the children will hear many Bible stories as we learn how God’s promises in the Old Testament are connected to the New Testament. There will also be play time to help make friends and arts and crafts for creative fun.
