Christ Episcopal Church is a loving and welcoming church family, centrally located in the historic Monte Vista District of San Antonio, Texas. Our sanctuary is one of the most peaceful and beautiful churches in the country, but the real beauty of our church is our people. We are a large church, but with a small, familial feel and lots of ways to become involved.

Bereavement Programs
Christ Episcopal Church and Porter Loring sponsor two bereavement programs. - Life After Loss and Coping with Grief During the Holidays. Each is designed to help individuals who have experienced loss to better understand the process of grief and how to live through it in a way that is healing. Classes are held on the church grounds. Dates and times vary.

Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic Visitors are lay ministers licensed by the Diocese of West Texas to take the sacrament of Holy Communion to the home bound, infirm, or those who are unable to receive at Christ Church.

Mental Health Ministry
Bridges to Care San Antonio (BTCSA) builds connections between congregations and service providers, trains people to be companions with one another for mental and behavioral health, brings hope and compassion to our city through cohorts of congregations in each district, and makes known the resources available to all for continued wellness. Our Wellness Champions are available to assist you in your mental health needs and get you connected to necessary resources.

The Good Ole Days
The Good Ole Days is a unique program for anyone looking to reminisce about years gone by. Originally developed for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, the program is now designed for everyone’s participation as you trip down memory lane viewing old movie and tv clips, discussing cultural and sports events and sharing recollections.

Visitations: Hospital, Health Care Facilities and Homes
The church strives to provide an on-going relationship with individuals who are in the hospital, a nursing home, or home bound. This is done through lay ministers who provide weekly contact with assigned individuals. Many of these ministers have completed the Community of Hope course.
